Wooden Hoarding York

Wooden hoarding is the most commonly used hoarding to provide a secure barrier around a construction or demolition site. Typically this will be plywood timber and is one of the most cost effective ways to secure your site. Timber can be painted to your colour or brand specifications or can be left natural or singularly coloured, such as white, to allow additional marketing banners or placards to be attached to the Hoarding. For additional robustness the wood can be capped with metal at the top and bottom of each panel.

Metal Hoarding

For a more temporary solutions, metal hoarding provides a good inexpensive free-standing option. This is because it can easily be used again and again with its steel posts which the framed panels can be fitted too quickly and easily. The panels are available as either flat or corrugated and this panel system makes integration with vehicle or pedestrian gates, access controls and additional security toppings relatively straightforward.
The more expensive choice is aluminium but provides a high class smooth finish, ideal for vinyl graphics to be applied to them. As aluminium is very long lasting against the elements it can be reused time and time again thus becoming a longer term cost effective solution for companies who have sequence of site projects.

Hoarding Services

We can provide a full turnkey service for all your hoarding needs. As well as the obvious installation and removal, we can assist with wind calculations, electrical connections and integration with site access. Where you have another site project, due to start soon we can store the hoarding until your next site is ready for installation.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Which is the best garden fencing?

Within composite fencing, there can be a large spread of prices as well as designs with some of the most costly being many times more than wood. However, composite panels fitted come without the maintenance demands so the cost you put on that will depend on you.  If you have existing concrete posts utilising composite fencing panels designed for this post option can be a sensible choice if your posts are in good condition but your wooden panels are not. Cheap dip treated fencing is generally a false economy as they will need treating on a frequent basis in order to last. So if you are on a budget but want good looking long-lasting fencing concrete posts, gravel boards with a pressure treated panel which you like the design style will be a sound choice.

  • Are composite and UPVC fencing the same?

Not exactly - UPVC fencing will be 100% made of plastic whereas composite fencing will be made up of more than one material and the case of fencing and decking this be wood with plastic. However, the wood content will be often only be a few %. Most of the plastics used in UPVC and composite fencing is also from recycled sources so both are a good environmental option.

  • How often should I treat my wooden fence panels?

If you went for a cheap dip-treated wooden fence then you will need to treat almost every year if you want to try to get your fence to last about 10 years. If you chose pressure-treated panels you could get away with only applying a sealing coat once every 3-5 years.

  • What is the most popular garden fence?

Featheredged or Closed board panels, which are sometimes also called vertical lap fence panels are by far and away the most popular. These are good all-rounders in terms of price and strength as long as you choose a pressure treated finish.

Each year we see more and more requests for composite fencing and the lower end Ceo fencing provides a competitive alternative to more intricate wooden fence panels designs. In terms of other popular wooden designs, slatted garden fence panels are also much more popular in recent seasons - both the single slat and double slatted versions. The double slatted version is also known as hit and miss fencing.
